Flexion of masculine inherited nouns
The grammatical forms of Rromani nouns are not the same in words of Asian origin (also called inherited – mainly Indian, Persian, Armenian and Anatolian Greek) and in words of European origin (also called borrowed – including Turkish loans since as a rule they have been borrowed on the European soil). The present padmad is intended to systematize the grammatical forms of masculine inherited nouns, already introduced in padmad Nr 7. One has to distinguish nouns ending with the stressed vowel -o and nouns ending in a consonant – let us see both cases with a boxlo adjective:

vocalic (-o) ending

consonantal ending

singular

plural

A-ćham

laćho gaʒo

laćhe gaʒe

terno amal

terne amala

B-ćham

laćhe gaʒes

laćhe gaʒen

terne amales

terne amalen

Remember that the B-ćham is used for nouns expressing people (or mammals) who UNDERGO the action of the verb of the sentence or are connected with a postposition;
